Express and Play
The following works of art are an expression of flow, texture, movement and feeling. Blends using brush strokes, as well as drip applications without allowing the brush to touch the surface, the results of these expressions are random in their appearance, yet have deep thought and control as to how the medium is applied to each composition. Touching on emotion, human senses (triggering flavour and taste), the expression of each of the works allows the viewer to get lost in the details without a need to associate the composition to familiar themes. This is intentional, giving the observer the freedom to interpret without force.

Taste | Acrylic and Enamel on Canvas | 36" x 24" | 2018 | What is it to 'Taste'? To savour what you see and feel? Is is sweet, sour, delicious or repulsive? Do you allow it, avoid it, consider it, adapt to it? The deprivation of taste can be the lack of access for many. Some of the limitations to access can be naturally born to us, like a physical or mental ability, others can be due to our own doing, and some due to the influences of others. We all want to have a figurative taste. The composition uses primary colours in a paste like format, while lines drizzle over to create movement and a visual salivation of sorts. The festive colours tell a story of abundance while acknowledging the limitations to access, represented by the sense of taste.
